TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MERZOUGA DESERT
Your rapid 2-day Sahara escape starts with an early morning pick-up from your riad or hotel. Departing Marrakech, the route ascends into the majestic High Atlas Mountains, where we will make stops to photograph the dramatic alpine scenery. Following a midday lunch break along the way, the journey presses on to your ultimate destination: the Merzouga desert.
By the afternoon, your camel caravan will be ready to lead you deep into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. You will pause on the crest of a high sand dune to take in a spectacular desert sunset before riding the rest of the way to your luxury camp. After settling into your private tent and freshening up, you will be treated to a mouthwatering dinner, followed by an evening of traditional Berber singing and drumming around a campfire.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT → AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH → MARRAKECH
We highly advise waking up early to catch a glorious desert sunrise painting the dunes. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, a 4x4 vehicle will transfer you back to the edge of the desert in Merzouga town. From here, the long return journey to the bustling city of Marrakech begins, featuring multiple rest stops and a break for lunch.
A major highlight of the return trip is a stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, this incredibly preserved clay village is famous as the cinematic backdrop for major productions like Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. The drive concludes in the late afternoon with a safe drop-off at your Marrakech riad, bringing your 2-day desert adventure to a close.
