TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: CASABLANCA → RABAT → FES

Your 4-day Moroccan expedition begins with a morning pick-up from the Mohammed V International Airport, your hotel, or any preferred location in Casablanca. You will be met by an expert local driver/guide to start the journey.

The first stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca—the largest mosque in Morocco and one of the largest in the world—to admire its stunning seaside exterior architecture. From there, you will drive north to the capital city of Rabat to view the iconic Hassan Tower (the minaret of an ambitious, incomplete 12th-century mosque project) and visit the adjacent, beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V.

Following a lunch break in Rabat, the drive continues inland to the imperial city of Fes. In the evening, you can head into the historic Medina of Fes for dinner, before settling in for a restful night's sleep at a charming local riad.

DAY 2: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your riad, you will leave Fes behind and travel south toward the Sahara. The first stop is Ifrane, a pristine town in the Middle Atlas Mountains widely celebrated as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine architecture. After a brief break, the drive continues through the mountains, pausing in a historic cedar forest where you can observe wild Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

After a lunch break at a restaurant along the route, you will navigate the Tizi n'Talghamt pass and descend along the spectacular, palm-filled Ziz Valley. By late afternoon, you will arrive in Merzouga, a small village positioned right at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Here, your camel caravan and guide will be waiting. You will trek out into the Sahara, pausing on a high crest to watch a serene sunset over the giant sand dunes. Upon arriving at your luxury desert camp, you will be welcomed with traditional mint tea. Take time to relax in your private tent before a delicious dinner is served. Afterwards, you will gather around a roaring campfire to listen to traditional Berber drum music, share stories, and stargaze under a brilliant desert sky.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA → RISSANI → TODRA CANYON → DADES GORGES

We highly recommend waking up early to witness the spectacular sight of the first golden rays of sunlight illuminating the desert dunes. After a hearty camp breakfast, you will return to the edge of the dunes via camel or a comfortable 4x4 vehicle.

If today coincides with a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, the tour will include a stop to explore the traditional, bustling Moroccan market (souk) in Rissani. The drive then moves toward Tinghir, pausing at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking an immense canopy of palm oases and traditional mud villages. Continuing along the riverbed, you will arrive at the dramatic Todra Canyon, where you will have time to take a leisurely walk beneath its sheer, 300-metre-high rock cliffs.

From there, you will drive to your final destination for the day: the Dades Gorges. This fascinating canyon region was at the bottom of the sea millions of years ago and contains massive sedimentary rock formations. You will also get to enjoy a panoramic view of the famous, winding "snake road" before heading to your hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 4: DADES GORGES → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH

On the final day of your journey, you will depart for Marrakech after a delightful breakfast at your hotel.

The route first takes you through Kalaat M'Gouna, the heart of the Rose Valley, which fills with blooming roses every spring. You will then arrive in Ouarzazate, where you have the option to tour the interior of the famous Atlas Film Studios—the largest movie set property in the world.

Next, you will explore the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an extraordinary and beautifully preserved example of southern Moroccan earthen clay architecture. Protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, this fortified ksar has served as the iconic setting for legendary films and television series, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Lawrence of Arabia, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones.

After thoroughly exploring the kasbah, you will begin the final drive to Marrakech. The route crosses the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n'Tichka pass, reaching an elevation of 2,260 metres (7,415 feet) above sea level. We will make several scenic stops along the descent before arriving in Marrakech, where your tour concludes with a safe drop-off at your riad or hotel.
