TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: CASABLANCA → CHEFCHAOUEN
Your 5-day Moroccan journey starts with a warm reception at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) or a direct pick-up from your city hotel, where your private driver/guide will welcome you.
From there, you will set off north towards Chefchaouen, a stunning mountain town tucked away in the rugged Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, you will check into your charming accommodation and enjoy free time to wander the town's world-famous blue-washed streets. Chefchaouen is celebrated for its photogenic, azure-painted architecture. Take a leisurely stroll through the narrow lanes, visit the bustling local squares, or relax at a hillside café sampling traditional northern dishes.
In the evening, retire to your lovely hotel or riad to rest and absorb the exceptionally tranquil mountain atmosphere.
DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN → FES
Savor a delicious breakfast at your riad before hitting the road for another remarkable journey heading south to Fes.
Upon arrival in Fes, a certified local city expert will be waiting to guide you through the wonders of this legendary medieval city. You will step back in time as you traverse ancient, labyrinthine alleyways, learn about centuries of history, and marvel at the breathtaking Islamic architecture. For lunch, you can dive into a traditional restaurant in the heart of the lively medina to experience the authentic flavours and aromas of local culinary specialities.
After a fulfilling day of historical exploration, you will check into a beautiful riad nestled right inside the Fes Medina—a peaceful, elegant sanctuary away from the vibrant energy of the city. Unwind, soak in the historic charm, and settle into your new home for the night.
DAY 3: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
Following breakfast at your riad in Fes, the expedition heads south toward the sweeping dunes of the Sahara. The first stop is Ifrane, a pristine alpine town known for its European-style architecture, offering a refreshing mountain pause.
Continuing the drive, you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at a historic cedar forest, where you can watch wild Barbary macaques interacting in their natural habitat. Afterwards, you will stop for a satisfying lunch at a restaurant along the route to fuel up for the rest of the drive.
The route then enters the breathtaking Ziz Valley, a massive canyon famous for its endless palm oases and fortified clay villages. You will take in these dramatic desert landscapes before arriving at the edge of the Sahara in the afternoon. Here, you will swap your vehicle for a traditional camel caravan. Trek across the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, pausing atop a high ridge to watch a truly magical desert sunset.
The trek concludes at a premium luxury desert camp, where you will be shown to your private, beautifully appointed tent to freshen up. A delicious dinner featuring authentic desert cuisine will be served. Afterwards, gather around a roaring bonfire under a brilliant starry sky, where the camp team will entertain you with rhythmic drumming and traditional Berber songs—and you can even try your hand at learning the drum beats yourself.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT → RISSANI → TODRA GORGE → DADES GORGE
Waking up early is highly recommended to witness the spectacular sight of the sunrise painting the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a hearty camp breakfast, you can choose to return to Merzouga town via camel trek or inside a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. Your private driver will then navigate the next leg of your journey towards the Dades Gorge.
En route, you will explore fascinating regional highlights, including the traditional weekly market of Rissani (if passing through on a market day—Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). You will also enjoy a leisurely walk through the magnificent Todra Gorge, admiring the clear waters of the Todra River dwarfed by sheer 300-metre cliffs.
As the drive continues into the Dades Gorge, prepare to be amazed by the unusual rock formations known locally as "monkey fingers." You will enjoy a highly scenic drive along the winding canyon roads, taking in panoramic valley views before checking into a lovely local hotel for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5: DADES GORGE → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH
On the final day of your 5-day circuit, the drive leads west toward Ouarzazate, famously celebrated as the "Hollywood of Africa" and the "Gateway to the Desert." While here, you have the option to tour the famous Atlas Film Studios to walk through massive movie sets and learn about the region's rich filmmaking history.
Next, you will arrive at the iconic village of Ait Ben Haddou to explore its ancient earthen kasbah, a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This majestic fortress has provided the backdrop for legendary films and series like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Take your time wandering the clay structures to appreciate the intricate details and historical craftsmanship.
Following a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, the journey ascends back over the High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi n'Tichka pass. Enjoy the dramatic mountain vistas before descending into Marrakech, where your 5-day tour concludes with a safe drop-off at your chosen accommodation or the airport in the late afternoon.
