TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: MARRAKECH → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → AIT BEN HADDOU → DADES VALLEY
Your tour begins with a warm welcome and pick-up from Marrakech airport or your accommodation. The journey starts with a scenic drive through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, offering awe-inspiring views of the landscape along the route.
During the drive, you will stop in the town of Ait Ben Haddou to explore its famous Kasbah—a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its intricate architecture and as a filming location for major productions like The Mummy and Prince of Persia. After a delightful lunch break, the drive continues to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa" and the "Gateway to the Desert." Here, you have the option to visit Atlas Studios, Morocco's largest film studio, for a unique glimpse into the world of movie-making.
Following the studio tour, you will head towards the Dades Valley, where you will encounter fascinating rock formations known as "monkey fingers." Enjoy the scenic drive along the valley, taking in panoramic views of the Gorges before reaching your overnight accommodation. Relax and unwind with dinner at a charming hotel.
DAY 2: DADES VALLEY → TODRA CANYON → MERZOUGA DESERT
Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a picturesque drive along the Todra River, passing lush palm groves and charming Berber villages. You will arrive at the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, a spectacular canyon renowned worldwide for its towering rock walls. From there, the journey continues toward the Merzouga desert.
En route to the Erg Chebbi dunes, your guide may recommend an optional stop at a traditional Berber shop. Here, you can try on a Berber outfit for a complimentary photo session and learn about local culture. (There is no obligation to buy souvenirs; if you are not interested, simply inform your driver and the stop will be skipped).
Upon reaching Merzouga, prepare for an unforgettable adventure. You will embark on a camel ride into the desert to watch the breathtaking sunset over the dunes and experience the thrill of sandboarding. The evening is spent at a luxury desert camp, where you will savor a delicious dinner and immerse yourself in the magic of the Sahara's starry night sky.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT → ZIZ VALLEY → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → IFRANE → FES
An early start is highly recommended to catch the breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a tasty breakfast at the camp, you will return to Merzouga via your choice of a camel ride or a 4x4 vehicle. Your experienced driver will then lead you on the northbound journey toward Fes.
During the drive, you will make several stops at remarkable destinations. The route passes through the scenic Ziz Valley, a captivating cedar forest near Azrou (where you might spot Barbary monkeys), and the picturesque town of Ifrane, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its alpine-style architecture.
By late afternoon, you will arrive in Fes. Check into your chosen hotel or riad within the historic Medina for a comfortable overnight stay.
DAY 4: EXPLORE FES → CHEFCHAOUEN
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your riad as you prepare for an exciting exploration of Fes. A knowledgeable local Fes guide will meet you to kick off an amazing tour of the Medina. You will discover its maze-like historic streets, delve into its rich history, and marvel at the stunning architecture. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch in the vibrant Medina, indulging in the authentic flavors of local cuisine.
In the afternoon, the journey continues north to Chefchaouen, the famous "Blue Pearl" of Morocco. After a rewarding day of discovery, you will check into a charming riad nestled in the heart of the town. The rest of the evening is yours to relax in this peaceful oasis and soak in the enchanting atmosphere.
DAY 5: EXPLORE CHEFCHAOUEN → TANGIER
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your riad before spending the morning exploring the charming town of Chefchaouen. Known for its unique blue-washed buildings, the town offers a highly picturesque setting. Take a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets, browse the lively markets for local craftsmanship, or relax at a cozy cafe serving authentic Moroccan dishes.
In the afternoon, you will head to Tangier. You will be dropped off at the airport, Tangier port, or your hotel, marking the conclusion of your remarkable journey. (Please note: You also have the option to end this tour in Fes, Casablanca, or return to Marrakech).
