TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: CASABLANCA → RABAT → CHEFCHAOUEN
Your 6-day Moroccan journey begins with a warm welcome at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport or your hotel. The tour kicks off with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque before driving north to the imperial city of Rabat, the nation's capital. Here, you will explore rich history and architectural wonders, including the landmark Hassan Tower and the beautiful, cliffside Kasbah of the Udayas.
Following a lunch break in Rabat, the drive continues north toward Chefchaouen, a breathtaking mountain town nestled in the scenic Rif range. Upon arrival, you will check into your delightful hotel or riad. You can spend the evening relaxing and soaking in the serene, laid-back atmosphere after an exciting first day of discovery.
DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN → FES
Start your morning with a delightful breakfast at your riad before stepping out to explore the "Blue City." Chefchaouen is world-famous for its charming streets and alleys painted in vibrant shades of blue, creating an incredibly picturesque backdrop that is perfect for capturing memorable photos.
Take your time wandering through the narrow corridors of the old Medina. Immerse yourself in Moroccan culture as you browse busy markets filled with colorful handicrafts and local spices. When you are ready for a break, relax at a cozy café or an authentic restaurant to sample local flavours, including fragrant tagines and delicate pastries, while enjoying the warm hospitality of the residents.
After lunch surrounded by the blue splendour of the town, you will take a scenic drive south to Fes, a city celebrated for its captivating architecture and deep history. By evening, you will arrive at a beautiful traditional riad located in the heart of the ancient Fes Medina, offering a comfortable and authentic overnight stay.
DAY 3: GUIDED TOUR OF FES
Today features an exciting, full-day guided excursion with a local expert to uncover the cultural and religious heart of Morocco. Fes is home to an incredible concentration of historical treasures, which you will discover firsthand.
The tour begins at the magnificent golden gates of the Royal Palace. From there, you will step into the winding, labyrinthine streets of the Fes Medina, a historic treasure protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will lead you to architectural masterpieces like Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the world-famous Chouara Tanneries.
Next, you will walk through "the Mellah"—the historic Jewish quarter—to learn about the fascinating history of the local community. The day wraps up with a drive up to an ancient hilltop fortress to take in a sweeping panoramic view over the entire Medina before returning to your riad for the evening.
DAY 4: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
Following breakfast at your riad, prepare for an extraordinary desert expedition. The route heads south toward the Sahara, starting with a brief stop in the picturesque city of Ifrane, often called the "Switzerland of Morocco" because of its alpine architecture and clean, scenic ambiance.
Continuing the drive, you will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and pass through a vast cedar forest, where you will have the opportunity to view wild Barbary apes in their native habitat. After a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant along the route, the drive traces the stunning Ziz Valley, a dramatic gorge famous for its immense palm tree oases and lush greenery.
By the afternoon, you will reach the edge of the dunes in Merzouga to begin your camel trekking adventure. You will mount a camel to ride deep into the rolling sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, pausing on a high crest to witness a spectacular Sahara sunset as the sky turns vibrant colours. You will then arrive at a luxury desert camp to check into a private tent equipped with an en-suite bathroom. Enjoy a delicious dinner followed by an evening around a cozy bonfire, where the camp staff will perform traditional Berber drum music.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT → RISSANI → TODRA GORGE → DADES GORGE
Waking up early is highly recommended to watch a brilliant sunrise over the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at the camp, you will return to the town of Merzouga by camel trek or a comfortable 4x4 vehicle to meet your driver for the journey toward the spectacular Dades Gorge.
The drive includes a stop in Rissani to visit its traditional market if it coincides with a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), allowing you to experience a vibrant local trading hub. You will then enjoy a scenic walk through the breathtaking Todra Gorge, wandering along pathways flanked by immense, towering limestone cliffs while the Todra River flows gently alongside you.
As the route nears the Dades Gorge, you will be amazed by the unusual clay rock formations famously known as the "monkey fingers." The day wraps up with a picturesque drive through the Dades Valley, taking in panoramic canyon views before checking into your charming hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.
DAY 6: DADES GORGE → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH
On the final leg of your 6-day journey, you will travel to Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa." Here, you can opt to tour the famous Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco, to see movie sets and learn about the region's cinematic history.
Next, you will explore the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This ancient, fortified clay village is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as a legendary backdrop for productions like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Take your time wandering through its historic corridors to appreciate the detailed earthen architecture.
Following lunch at a local restaurant, the tour climbs over the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n'Tichka pass, offering magnificent panoramic views along the descent. You will arrive in Marrakech by the late afternoon, where your driver will drop you off safely at your accommodation, marking the conclusion of your unforgettable 6-day tour.
