After enjoying breakfast at your riad, your day will kick off with a lovely drive through the charming villages of the Rif region. As we journey through the Moroccan countryside, you will be treated to breathtaking views and picturesque landscapes. Our first destination is Volubilis, an ancient Roman city. At Volubilis, you will have the opportunity to explore the remains of this historic city and learn about its fascinating past. The ruins are known for their well-preserved mosaics and impressive public buildings constructed around the 3rd century. Walking among the ruins will transport you back in time and give you a glimpse into the lives of the Romans who once called this place home.
Once we have finished discovering the wonders of Volubilis, we will make our way to Meknes, a city that served as the grand capital of Morocco in the 17th century. After a satisfying lunch in Meknes, we will venture into the city’s medina, an old town surrounded by massive protective walls. Inside, you will find the famous Bab el-Mansour gate, one of the most remarkable gates in all of Morocco, boasting intricate designs and exquisite carvings. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a sacred place dedicated to the famous Sultan. After a day filled with exploration at Volubilis and Meknes, we will make our way to Fes, checking into a beautiful riad for a relaxing evening.
DAY 5: GUIDED TOUR OF FES
Today, you will have a thrilling full-day tour with a friendly local guide to explore the vibrant city of Fes. Well-known for its fascinating history and lively culture, Fes holds immense cultural and religious importance in Morocco, brimming with valuable historical treasures just waiting for you to uncover.
Begin your journey by visiting the magnificent golden gate of the Royal Palace. Then, walk into the narrow streets of the old part of the city known as the Medina, an exceptional place acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. While exploring the Medina, you will visit notable landmarks such as Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Chouara Tanneries, which all exhibit stunning architectural designs and intricate details. Afterward, make your way to the historic Jewish quarter, referred to as “the Mellah,” and delve into the captivating history of the Jewish community in Fes. Finally, ascend to an ancient fortress and relish a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Medina and city. As the day draws to a close, return to the comfort of your riad.
DAY 6: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
After enjoying a tasty breakfast at your riad in Fes, get ready for an amazing desert adventure as we travel south towards the magical Merzouga desert. Along the way, we will take a quick break in the beautiful city of Ifrane, where you can relax and take in the scenic views.
Continuing our journey, we will pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop by the road in a dense cedar forest, where you will have the chance to see Barbary apes in their natural habitat. We will then stop at a restaurant for a satisfying lunch before heading to the Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm tree oasis.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the desert and start our authentic camel ride across the mesmerizing sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. As we trek through the desert, we will pause to enjoy a stunning sunset from a high dune before reaching our luxury desert camp. Upon arrival, you will be shown to your private tent with its own en-suite bathroom. Later, a delicious dinner will be served, giving you a true taste of local cuisine. Gather around a cozy bonfire under the starry sky while our camp staff entertains you with drumming and traditional Berber music, even offering you the chance to learn how to play the drums yourself.
DAY 7: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE THE MERZOUGA DESERT
Waking up early today is highly recommended to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a tasty breakfast before deciding whether to ride a camel or join a 4x4 vehicle for the transfer back to Merzouga to start your day of desert adventure.
Our first destination is the small town of Khamlia, where you can listen to a unique type of music called Gnawa, played for you by local musicians whose ancestry traces back to Sub-Saharan countries like Sudan. Next, we will take an off-road drive to M’Fis, an abandoned village that features historic galena mines, a mineral once harvested to make traditional mascara.
After that, we will visit a nomadic family living near the Erg Chebbi Dunes. They have chosen to live a traditional nomadic lifestyle away from modern civilization; you can enjoy a cup of tea with them in their traditional Berber tents and learn all about their unique customs. Following a tasty lunch, we will drive to your beautiful riad, where you can relax and swim in the lovely pool. In the late afternoon, you can choose to go on an optional quad biking or buggy driving adventure, or simply take a walk out to the dunes to watch the sunset. Later, we will have a delicious dinner and spend a cozy night at the riad.

Take your time to appreciate its detailed earthen clay architecture and grand decorations.
Once we have had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue our journey over the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stopping from time to time to take in the magnificent panoramic views of the landscape.
